Job Purpose |
Operations Manager oversees day-to-day office and program management, and also provides research support. Provides a variety of complex administrative and programmatic supports to the Director, Assistant Director, and Fellows of the Riley
Center. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of management experience is required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. · Able to work independently and as part of a team. · Proficiency with MS Office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. · Previous experience with banner finance preferred · Resourceful and creative in approach to research and problem solving. · Model ethics and integrity. · Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure. · Ability to learn and adapt to new software technologies. · Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituents, including staff, faculty, non-profit organizations, program participants, and other supporters. |

Under the supervision of the director of the Riley Center, oversees budget accounts for the Riley Center and its programs. Monitors and reconciles expense reports to ensure accurate accounting of expenditures. Purchases and monitors supplies
and equipment for the Riley Center and its programs. Manages MOAs and invoicing processes related to Riley Center projects and programs tracking grants and contracts throughout the process from inception through completion. Verifies transactions and ensures
funding is in place. Ensures compliance with all State and institutional fiscal policies and procedures. |

Plans and project manages programs and conferences hosted/facilitated by the Riley Center including but not limited to SC Clerks to Council Association, Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute, Local Government
Leadership Institute and Advanced Leadership Academy, and Center for Creative Retirement, Charleston Academy for Lifelong Learning, Government Finance Officers’ Leadership Academy, Athenian Project, and Riley Mayors’ Design Fellowship. Serves as a liaison with outside vendors, campus constituents, government employees, and Riley Center staff to ensure quality of programs, events, and communication. Manages the SC City/County Management Association member and sponsor relations, membership database, payment tracking, website, and communications. Plans and oversees event logistics for the Association’s winter
and summer meetings, including managing hotel and other event-related contracts, menus, event planning, conference registration, exhibition space planning, communications, and staffing. |
