Job Purpose
Archival Fellow for the "Avery and Liberatory Literacies" grant will support project leadership in arranging, describing, digitizing collections and creating access points for collections.
Minimum Requirements
Required:

  *   Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in history (particularly a strong working knowledge of African American history and culture), education, arts management, historic preservation and planning, library/archival administration, political science, anthropology, sociology, communications, or other related fields.
  *   Experience and/or interest in research, libraries, genealogy, or other areas related to archival work.
  *   Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  *   Ability to work independently, as well as with the public and other team members.
Preferred:

  *   ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science, or a related field
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  *   Academic training and experience in history (particularly a strong working knowledge of African American History and Culture), education, arts management, historic preservation and planning, library/archival administration, political science, anthropology, sociology, communications, or other related fields
  *   *Good written and verbal communication skills
  *   *Ability to work independently, as well as with the public and other staff members
  *   *Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Additional Comments Regarding Position
*This is a temporary grant position exempt from grievance rights. This position is funded by other than State monies and continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of these funds.
