Job Purpose |
Under the direction of the Head Sailing Coach, the Assistant Coach instructs and trains athletes to prepare them for hi-level competition. Instructs athletes in general or specialized aspects of their sport. Supports efforts of the Head
Coach by ensuring compliance with applicable bylaws and standards, both on campus and in recruiting efforts. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor’s Degree Required,- Experience in coaching sailing at the collegiate level and US Sailing Level two (or equivalent) accreditation is preferred. Candidates should ideally have high level competitive racing experience and sailing
skills. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
In depth knowledge and understanding of Collegiate style fleet racing and team racing. Excellent communication and strong organizational skills. |
Additional Comments Regarding Position |
The Assistant Coach provides support to the Head Coach in 1) on water coaching, 2) practice and training organization 3) team travel and organization 4) regatta management and organization 5) budget maintenance 6) will assist dockmaster
at times in boat/fleet maintenance 7) help with recruiting of qualified student-athletes when necessary. |
