Job Purpose |
The Assistant Director of Compliance serves to support the Athletics Department commitment to compliance with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and CAA (Colonial Athletic
Association) legislation, rules and regulations and is responsible for promoting an atmosphere of compliance at The College of Charleston. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor’s Degree and one years of experience in a compliance related operation under the NCAA Division I. 2 years of Division I compliance experience and Masters degree preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coaches, student- athletes, faculty and staff. Strong written and oral communication skills a must. Ability to organize tasks and set priorities in a time sensitive
environment. Knowledge of NCAA and CAA legislation, rules and regulations required. Knowledge of compliance systems, best practices and collegiate environments is expected. Experience with compliance related
computer applications (JumpFoward, Compliance Assistant, Request and Self- Reporting On-Line) is helpful. |
Additional Comments Regarding Position |
Position may require occasional night and weekend work and overnight travel. |

of the agency’s compliance programs and associated policies, standards, procedures and controls. Administers and archives compliance documentation to guide employees in confirming compliance standards. |

Assists in the investigation of NCAA/CAA complaints of violations. Submits self-reporting documents to the CAA/NCAA offices as assigned.
Participates in the response plan for violations compliance programs and associated policies, and provides communication to internal departments, including remediation steps. Supports the accurate completion and timely submission of all required NCAA annual
reports. As assigned completes and manages the submission of waivers to the CAA/NCAA, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. |
