Job Purpose |
Responsible for the production and editing of short video projects with a focus on storytelling and marketing the College of Charleston to external audiences. Production takes place in the field (on campus, in the city or out of the area)
with additional filming done in a studio environment on campus. |
Minimum Requirements |
A bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience, with at least one year of experience in social media and/or digital content creation, news, television programming or video production is required. Candidates with
an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Person must be experienced with managing projects, knowledgeable about marketing strategies, highly creative, and deadline oriented. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (and some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe environment)
and cameras with interchangeable lenses, and a willingness to learn other technologies as required. Working knowledge of current videography styles, techniques, technology, and cinematic video trends, as well as experience using video to achieve marketing
and communications goals. Experience with social media and multimedia marketing techniques, and an understanding of online video marketing is a plus. Proficient in advanced field production techniques including audio and lighting. Ability to recognize technical
issues and troubleshoot/standardize production practices to be disseminated to the video team and student videographers. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a team, whether within the University Marketing and Enrollment Planning
division, or with units across the campus. |
Additional Comments Regarding Position |
This position requires some evening and weekend work. A valid driver’s license is also required as the position may travel at times. Heavy lifting may be required. |
