Job Purpose |
Associate Director of Student Success Programs will lead varying student success and retention initiatives in alignment with the institutional strategic plan. They will oversee all of the programs and services associated with the First
Year Impact program and CAPP Mentor Program. This includes overseeing specialized requirements and intentional support provided to students admitted to the College through the First Year Impact program and other at-risk populations. |
Minimum Requirements |
A bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience with student support services in a higher education setting is required. Some form of peer education experience is preferred. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Knowledge of student development theory and understanding best practices in higher education for retention, student success, and degree attainment required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Programs (Outlook Calendar, Word, Excel, Power
Point, and Publisher) and willing and able to learn other database systems, including INB Banner, and Advise CRM. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain effective working
relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public in a complex and fast-paced working environment. Ability to manage a program budget including temporary employee and student wages as well as program management and programming funds. Ability
to train, supervise and evaluate students and temporary employees. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate resourcefulness. Knowledge of College and State policies, procedures, and practices desired. Discretion and knowledge of FERPA regulations

Additional Comments Regarding Position |
May be required to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Some overnight travel may be required. |

Manages programming specifically designed to provide intentional support to students who are identified as at-risk including but not limited to First Year Impact admits and students on Academic Probation. Duties include day to day program
management including: establishing and evaluating program policies and procedures, monitoring compliance with student success requirements, tracking student use of support services, and developing plans for success mid-year based on academic progress. Monitors
various reports including but not limited to FAST, mid-term grades and final grade. Conducts appropriate outreach for proactive early interventions. |

Administers and supervises the Peer Academic Coach (PAC) program and oversight of the CAPP Mentor Program. Both are in collaboration with the Center for Excellence in Peer Education (CEPE),
establishes program specific learning objectives, semester-, and year- long curriculum to be implemented by PACs and CAPP Mentors. Recruits and selects approximately 40-50 undergraduate students to serve as Peer Educators. Administers
the PAC program which includes managing program budget, employment paperwork, initial and continued professional development of PACs in compliance with IPTPC (International Peer Education Training Program
Certification), identifying returning PACs to act as leaders, matching PACs with students and following up to ensure that students are complying with their PAC requirement. Meets regularly with PAC leadership
to provide guidance and oversight for managing day to day situations as they occur. Review weekly reports from PACs and CAPP Mentors to provide early intervention as needed and to guide future training and program curriculum. |
