Job Purpose

Archival Fellow for the “Avery and Liberatory Literacies” grant will support project leadership in arranging, describing, digitizing collections and creating access points for collections.

Minimum Requirements

ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science or a related field and experience and/or interest in research, libraries, genealogy, or other areas related to archival work are required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Academic training and experience in history (particularly a strong working knowledge of African American History and Culture), education, arts management, historic preservation and planning, library/archival administration, political science, anthropology, sociology, communications, or other related fields
  • ·Good written and verbal communication skills
  • ·Ability to work independently, as well as with the public and other staff members
  • ·Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

Additional Comments Regarding Position

*This is a temporary grant position exempt from grievance rights. This position is funded by other than State monies and continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of these funds.
