Cougars Begin Home Stretch Against UNC Asheville
CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston begins a three-game homestand on Tuesday when UNC Asheville visits
Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point for a 7 p.m. match.
The Cougars will also host William & Mary on Saturday and Incarnate Word on October 4 during this current run of home games.
The game will be a Tailgate Tuesday, and the first 50 Charleston students will receive a voucher for a hot dog and drink. The first 100 students will receive a free “Tailgate Tuesday” koozie.
Charleston is 2-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 (seven points) in the CAA, finding themselves in a five-way tie with Hofstra, Drexel, Northeastern and William & Mary for third place. Elon sits atop
the conference with nine points, followed by UNCW with eight.
UNC Asheville is 1-6-2 with a win over Georgia Southern. The Bulldogs played to a 2-2 draw against Gardner-Webb in their Big South opener on Saturday.
Leonardo D’Ambrosio leads the Cougars with nine points (three goals, three assists) and is third in the CAA with an average of 1.29 points per game. He is tied for fifth in assists and is
a tie for sixth along with teammate Chris Elliott in goals.
Sam Pitts-Eckersall paces UNC Asheville with four goals and has eight points, tied with Sam Presser for the team lead. Presser had three goals and two assists, tied with Conor Behan, Heath
Flathau and Dylan Thompson for the top spot.
