Powell Picks Up CAA Offensive Player of the Week Award  

 

RICHMOND, VA. – College of Charleston senior forward Grace Powell has become the second Cougar to earn CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors in just the first three weeks of the 2022 season. 

 

Powell, a graduate of Pinewood Prep, joins Faith Slimmer, who received conference accolades following the opening two games of the season. Powell scored three goals in two Charleston wins last week, including both tallies in a 2-0 victory over Longwood on Friday. 

 

She added the opening goal in a 7-0 win at SC State on Sunday to give her a team-leading four on the year and 10 in her career. Powell is tied for the CAA lead in goals, tied for second with two game-winning goals and tied for third with eight points. 

 

The Cougars are off to a 4-2 start and return to action Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game against Charleston Southern at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.
