COUGARS FALL TO GEORGIA, CHARLOTTE SATURDAY
ATHENS, Ga. ---
The College of Charleston volleyball team fell to host Georgia in straight sets on Saturday morning and nearly completed the reverse sweep against Charlotte that evening falling to the 49ers
in five sets to conclude the weekend at Georgia’s Bulldog Classic.
Georgia (5-0) defeated the Cougars by scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-20 in the morning session. The Bulldogs held Charleston to a .127 hitting percentage while totaling 45 kills
and attacking at a .354 clip. Charlotte (5-2) rallied from three points down in the fifth set to deny Charleston (2-4) the reverse sweep winning the match by scores of 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 15-13. The Niners finished the night with 68 kills, 12 aces
and nine blocks compared to 64 kills, eight aces and 11 blocks for the Cougars.

With Charleston leading 10-7 in the fifth set, Charlotte embarked on a 5-2 run to even the tally at 12-12 before scoring three of the final four points to survive the Cougars’ fervent
comeback effort.
