Both players figure significantly among the CAA statistical leaders entering the conference tournament. McCants is fourth in the league in ERA (2.23), strikeouts (103) and opponent batting average (.226), sixth in innings pitched (116.1) and tied for sixth in complete games (8). Her three shutouts are tied for the second most in the CAA. Two of those came in the final home series of the season against Towson that helped the Cougars qualify for postseason play. McCants was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week in two of the final three weeks of the regular season. Helberg has paced the Cougars at the plate during her senior season and is currently batting .314 to rank 18th in the CAA. Her 11 doubles are tied for fourth, and she is also tied for 15th with five home runs, 17th in slugging percentage at .529 and 20th with 22 RBI.
