Marr is only the second catcher in program history to be named a semifinalist for the award and the first since it was renamed in honor of former collegiate standout and three-time World Series Champion Buster Posey. The junior transfer has made an immediate impact in his first season with the Cougars starting his tenure at The College with a 24-game reached base streak and currently leads the team in batting average (.320), hits (66), home runs (7), RBI’s (40), slugging percentage (.505) and total bases (104). A native of Fort Mill, S.C. Marr has been superb behind the dish as well carrying a .995 fielding percentage into the weekend with only two errors in nearly 400 chances in the field while throwing out nine base stealers thus far.
