The Dukes scored seven times in their first two at bats of the nightcap and finished with 12 hits including a pair of homers and seven RBI by Lauren Bernett. The JMU catcher had six hits and drove in 10 runs in the doubleheader.

Charleston reached starter Meredith Wells for a run in the first on an RBI infield single by Payton Wade and an inning later on a base hit by Jenna Carter that brought home Windham.

The Cougars remain home on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader against Charleston Southern beginning at 5 p.m.
