Jenna Carter had two of the Cougars’ six hits, but Jenna Helberg went 0-for-2 with two walks to see her eight-game hitting streak come to an end. Malaka Belser drove in the Charleston run with a bases loaded ground out in the seventh. Charleston had a scoring chance in the second when Mia Dittoe and Noel Dominguez singled and Kayla Gutierrez walked. Down 3-0 in the fifth, Carter singled and Helberg walked, but Belser’s fly ball to deep left was hauled in on the warning track for the final out.
