PRIVETTE VENERATED AS CAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK

RICHMOND, Va. --- Sophomore right-hander William Privette has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week after picking up both a win and a save in two appearances while helping College of Charleston secure a series sweep of William & Mary this past weekend announced league officials Monday.

The 6-foot-6 right-hander tossed four and two-thirds shutout innings across two appearances over the weekend, holding the Tribe to one hit and one walk in while striking out six. He earned his league-leading seventh save of the season in Friday's opener, entering a 3-2 game in the seventh and striking out four batters in 2.2 innings to shut the door.

He then retired all six batters he faced and earned his third win of the campaign as Charleston rallied for a 7-5 triumph on Sunday. Privette enters the week leading the CAA with a 0.93 ERA while is good for second in the nation. The Chapin, S.C. native also sports a 3-0 record and has fanned 51 batters in 38.2 innings pitched thus far.
