The Cougars outhit the Pirates, 6-4, and drew seven walks in the first game but stranded all 13 runners including leaving the bases loaded twice. Mia Dittoe had two hits, Shealyn Starks contributed a double and Jenna Carter drew three walks. Payton Lemire surrendered only one earned run and struck out three in a complete game effort. Madisyn Davis and Logyn Estes combined on the shutout for East Carolina. Natalie Windham and Jenna Helberg singled to start the bottom of the first in the second game, but Pirate pitcher Taylor Smith did not allow a baserunner the rest of the way. Bailee Wilson had the big hit for East Carolina with a three-run double in the fifth to break open a one-run game.
