PRIVETTE NABS ABCA/RAWLINGS ALL- REGION HONORS

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- College of Charleston sophomore William Privette added yet another accolade to his collection on Wednesday earning a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region First Team.

Privette continues to rake in the awards after a record-setting sophomore season having already earned a trio of prestigious accolades including being named the CAA’s first-ever finalist for NCBWA Stopper of the Year. With his selection to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region First Team, Privette is now eligible for ABCA All-America honors to be announced on Friday.

The 2022 CAA Pitcher of the Year finished the 2022 campaign as the only pitcher in program and CAA history to post an earned run average under 1.00, setting a new single-season school and league mark with a 0.91 ERA. He currently paces the nation in ERA (0.91), hits allowed per nine innings (4.70) and WHIP (0.78) while ranking 10th with a CAA-best 12 saves.

Privette played an integral role in the Cougars’ run to their second CAA regular season title in program history this season logging the third-most innings on the team while pacing the staff with a miniscule .148 batting average against. The 6-foot-6 fireballer worked at least two full innings in 19 of his 25 appearances this season with 10 of his 12 saves coming in outings spanning at least two frames. Privette struck out 80 batters in 59.1 innings of work averaging more than 12 K’s per nine frames.
