COUGARS ADD FOUR FOR FALL OF 2022

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- Avery Alexander (Lexington, Ky.), Elizabeth Curry (Marietta, Ga.), Kora Hansen (Canton, Ga.) and Bella Sinacori (Phoenix, Ariz.) have signed to attend the College of Charleston and join the Cougars’ indoor and beach volleyball programs in the fall of 2022 announced head coach Jason Kepner Tuesday.

“We are excited to add these four great athletes to the Cougar family,” Kepner said. “Bella and Avery are joining us on the indoor side and Kora and Liz will join the beach roster. They are all great people, athletes, and students that will represent CofC very well. All four are very talented and their experience will give them the ability to help us as freshman. I look forward to welcoming them to Charleston this fall and watching their impact on our programs.”

Avery Alexander | Defensive Specialist | 5-9 | Lexington, Ky.

Alexander joins the Cougars from Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, Ky. where she holds the all-time records for both digs and aces. She collected 600 kills and over 1,000 digs in her four years with the Knights and finished her senior year with 278 kills, 407 digs and 76 aces to earn Co-MVP honors. Alexander was named to the 2A State Championship All-Tournament Team as well as earning Tournament MVP honors.

Elizabeth Curry | Beach Volleyball | 5-10 | Marietta, Ga.

Curry will join the beach volleyball program after earning GVCA All-State honors at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga. She was twice named to the AVCA Phenom Watch List and helped Walton to three GHSA State Championships and four straight region championships. Curry played four seasons on Walton’s nationally ranked indoor team where she led the 2021 state championship team as team captain while earning Offensive Player of the Year honors. She played three years on the sand for S3 Volleyball, collecting eight 18u AVP and USAV top-five finishes.

Kora Hansen | Beach Volleyball | 5-5 | Canton, Ga.

Hansen played two seasons on the indoor team at Sequoyah High School in Canton Ga. before transitioning to the sand. She helped lead the Chiefs to a 6A Region Championship and State Runner-up finish, earning All-Region Second Team honors as well as All-County Honorable Mention accolades. Hansen played for A5 Beach and was named to the 2019 and 2021 JVA Beach Watch List.

Bella Sinacori | Right Side | 6-1 | Phoenix, Ariz.

Sinacori comes to Charleston from Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Ariz. where she led the Gators to two 6A Premier State Championships in four appearances.
