Cougar Trio Scores in 1500 on Second Day of CAA Championships



BOSTON, MASS. – Three College of Charleston athletes placed in the top eight in the 1500, and Kristen Cherry earned a spot in the record book in the 5000 to highlight the final day of the CAA Track and Field Championships.



Rhian Purves (4:41.83), Cate Ambrose (4:42.56) and Cherry (4:44.17) took spots six through eight in the 1500. Later in the day, Cherry posted a time of 17:57.07 in the 5000 to move into ninth place in school history.



Emily Dorony earned points for the Cougars in the 800, finishing sixth with a time of 2:16.19. The 4x100 relay team of Kaitlynn Bailey, Tonet Tallie, Alicia Wilson and Asiah Gadson had a season-best mark of 49.03.



Logan Gray just missed on a spot in the top eight in the discus after advancing to the finals and finishing ninth with a top throw of 40.09m (131 feet, 6 inches).



As a team, the Cougars finished the meet with 25 points to take seventh place.
