CHARLESTON, S.C. --- With all but one series of non-conference play behind it, the College of Charleston baseball team welcomes CAA preseason favorite Northeastern to Patriots Point this weekend to begin league action. First pitch for Friday’s series opener is slated for 4:00 p.m.



Charleston has won four of its last six after falling to Georgia Southern, 4-1, on the road on Tuesday. The Huskies enter the weekend with four wins in their last five following a 1-0 setback on Tuesday to Boston College.



PROBABLE PITCHERS

Friday | 4:00 pm ET: RHP Ty Good (2-2, 3.33) vs. RHP Cam Schlittler (2-3, 3.64)

Saturday | 2:00 pm ET: RHP Daniel Brooks (1-2, 4.24) vs. RHP Sebastian Keane (2-2, 3.42)

Sunday | 1:00 pm ET: LHP Connor Campbell (3-0, 2.49) vs. RHP Wyatt Scotti (5-0, 1.30)



LEADING OFF



·         The Cougars enter conference play having won four of their last six including an 8-4 win over No. 2 Texas on March 15 and a series victory against perennial regional participant East Carolina last weekend.



·         Sam Cochrane's bat caught fire in a big way last week with the veteran outfielder batting .643 (9-for-14) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and four RBI to earn CAA Player of the Week honors.



·         Charleston's pitching staff has been amongst the CAA's best so far this season entering the week ranked second in ERA, strikeouts per nine innings and strikeout-to-walk ratio. The Cougars are also third in opposing batting average.



·         CofC has deployed one of the most balanced offenses in the league thus far with five players driving in at least 10 runs led by JT Marr, Preston Hall and Trotter Harlan with 15 each. The Cougars saw a seven-game home run streak snapped on Tuesday at Georgia Southern.



·         Junior Trotter Harlan has been an on-base machine so far this season with an on-base percentage of .472 through 21 games. The Fountain Inn, S.C. native has reached base in 31 of the last 33 games dating back to last season and is currently 21st in the nation with 20 walks.



·         William Privette, Reed Parris and Luke Vaks have been superb out of the 'pen thus far combining for a 2-0 record, three saves, a 1.13 ERA and .182 batting average against in 40 innings pitched. Privette has been nothing short of spectacular leading the CAA and ranking 14th nationally with a 0.83 ERA in 21.2 innings of work while Reed Parris sports a WHIP of 0.81 in 16 frames.



SCOUTING THE HUSKIES



·         Northeastern comes into the weekend with a 12-8-1 record highlighted by a weekend sweep at then-No. 8 North Carolina State on Mar. 4-6.



·         The Huskies currently rank sixth nationally in stolen bases (49) and seventh in double plays turned (20).



·         Mike Sirota leads the Huskies with nine doubles, three home runs, 17 RBI and a .366 batting average.



·         Sunday starter Wyatt Scotti has won each of his first five starts this season and has allowed only five earned runs in 34.2 innings thus far.
