CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will make the familiar drive up the coast to Conway, S.C. on Wednesday to renew acquaintances with regional rival Coastal Carolina. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. at Springs Brooks Stadium.

Charleston has dropped three of its last four after opening CAA play with a sweep of preseason favorite Northeastern while the Chanticleers are coming off a weekend sweep of Arkansas State. The Cougars lead the all-time series, 25-24, following an 8-7 setback in Conway last season.

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Wednesday | 6:00 pm ET: RHP Caswell Smith (1-0, 22.50) vs. RHP Jack Billings (0-2, 10.38)

LEADING OFF

· The Cougars enter the week in a five-way tie for first in the CAA after two weekends of conference play. Charleston dropped two of three to the Pride this weekend despite holding a lead in each game, picking up its first win at Hofstra since 2014 on Saturday.

· Junior Trotter Harlan has been a force in the lineup for the Cougars this season entering Tuesday's game leading the team in on-base percentage (.442) while ranking second in the league with 24 walks thus far.

· Sophomore William Privette has been simply superb out of the bullpen so far this season entering the week ranked third in the nation with a 0.63 ERA in 28.2 innings of work. The 6-foot-6 right-hander is currently tied for the CAA lead with five saves.

· The Cougars have deployed one of the most balanced offenses in the league thus far with five players driving in at least 13 runs led by JT Marr, Preston Hall and Trotter Harlan who have combined for 62 of CofC's 146 RBI to date.

· Senior Donald Hansis possesses without doubt one of the most dangerous bats in the Cougar lineup entering the week ranked second on the team with five home runs after homering in back-to-back games at Hofstra. Nine of Hansis' 12 hits this season have gone for extra bases.

SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS

· Coastal Carolina enters the week with a 16-10-1 overall record and a 5-3-1 mark in Sun Belt action.

· The Chanticleers rank second in the nation in sacrifice flies (21) and fifth in sacrifice bunts (22) entering the week.

· Tyler Johnson paces the Coastal offense with a .404 batting average and a .485 on-base percentage.

· Dale Thomas has launched a team-best eight home runs while Austin White is batting .301 and ranks 20th nationally with 20 stolen bases.
