Cougars Host NC State in Non-Conference Battle



CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston steps out of conference play on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match against NC State at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.



The Cougars enter with a record of 4-4-3 while the Wolfpack is 4-5-1. The game is the eighth meeting with NC State holding a 6-1 lead, including a 4-1 victory in Raleigh in 2019. This is the first time since 1994 that the Wolfpack is visiting Charleston.



Tuesday will be a Student Rewards Night, with 10 Charleston soccer scarves being given to randomly selected students. A shuttle service from the Stern Center to take students to the game will begin running at 5:30.



Chris Elliott leads the Cougars and ranks second in the CAA with seven goals and 15 points. Leonardo D’Ambrosio is tied for second with five assists, one more than Chris Matlashewski, and is tied for sixth with 11 points.



Olly Marshall has a 1.50 goals against average and is fourth in the conference with 3.5 saves per game.



NC State is paced offensively by Conor Kelly with five goals and 11 points. Lucas Hatsios has a 1.13 goals against average and 27 saves.
