Cougars Play to Scoreless Draw at Stony Brook
STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Katie Carrino and Savannah Barron combined for College of Charleston’s seventh shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw at Stony Brook on Thursday.
The Cougars (8-6-2, 2-3-2 CAA) gained a point in the conference standings, leaving them in a ninth-place tie with Hofstra with eight points. The Cougars and Pride meet Sunday in Hempstead, N.Y., at noon.
Carrino played the first 74 minutes and made two saves, and Barron also stopped a pair of shots in her 16 minutes of action. Nicolette Pasquarella recorded eight saves for Stony Brook.
The Cougars fired 19 shots, led by Olivia Freitas and Jenna Snead with four each, and Freitas and Grace Powell both had two of the team’s eight shots on target. The Seawolves took 13 shots with four on goal.
