Slimmer Receives National Recognition from Top Drawer Soccer



LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Faith Slimmer added to her list of weekly honors on Tuesday when she was named an honorable mention choice for the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.



Slimmer, who was selected the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, had a goal and three assists for five points to lead College of Charleston to wins over Alabama A&M and Coastal Carolina to open the 2022 season.



The sophomore forward was a part of all three goals in a 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday. She had assists on both goals in the first half and added a score of her own after intermission. Slimmer made it three assists for the week when she aided on the second goal in another 3-0 triumph over the Chanticleers.



The Petersburg, N.J., product led the Cougars with nine shots and four shots on goal in the two wins. She has three goals and five assists in just over two collegiate seasons.



Charleston opened the season with two wins for the first time since 2014. The Cougars will look to make it three straight when they play their first road game of the season on Friday at Mercer.
