WIGGANS ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGES AHEAD OF 2022 SEASON

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston men’s soccer head coach Keith Wiggans announced a pair of staffing changes Tuesday ahead of the 2022 season.

Max Correa has been elevated to assistant coach after spending the 2021 season as the Director of Operations and Player Development. Wiggans also announced the addition of former student-athlete Joseph ‘Jet’ Terry ‘17 as the new Director of Operations and Player Development.

“Max did a great job for us last year as a Director of Operations/Player Development but I am very excited to get him on the field coaching this year,” Wiggans said. “He is a talented young coach who is constantly growing his knowledge while also having a great connection with the players.”

Correa came to CofC from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he was an assistant coach since 2019. He assisted with training sessions as well as recruiting and travel logistics and planned scouting reports and ID clinics. Correa also coached with the United Soccer Academy from 2017-20 and the Montclair United Soccer Club from 2019-20.

Terry returns to Charleston after spending several seasons playing professionally in New Zealand and Germany. In New Zealand, he played for Hamilton Wanderers in the ISPS Handa Premiership from 2018-2019 under Ricki Herbert. From 2020-2021, played for 04/19 Ratingen in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Since 2021, Terry has been coaching locally at Elite Futsal Charleston.

“I am happy to bring Jet back to the program,” Wiggans said. “His personality and values fit exactly what we are looking for from the staff. He will be a big asset to the team and program.”

During Terry's collegiate career, he played at Regis University (2013-2015) and College of Charleston (2016-2017). At Regis University, he was named All-RMAC Third Team in 2013 with a total of 51 starts in 52 games in three seasons. In 2013, Terry was part of the team that won the RMAC regular season and reached Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament. At College of Charleston, he appeared in seven games with six starts before suffering a season-ending injury.
